Our space was designed for deep inner work and creative refuge. It is a place to slow down, turn inward, and engage with the inner material that is often overlooked. It is a space for honest exploration where difficult emotions, untold stories, and shadow material can surface and find form.

By day, the space offers calm and quiet for rest, creative work, renewal, and reconnection; by evening, it comes alive as a gathering place for talks, concerts, workshops, and community ritual.

Whether you come to be alone together, to celebrate, to grieve, or to simply sit with tea and a book, may Deep Waters be a sanctuary for that process.

Deep Waters is located in Lower Albina, Portland.

A Consecrated Space

The Deep Waters space was created as a place to remember Love and return to the sacred.

Every floorboard and almost every piece of furniture was imagined, designed, sanded, and painted by Deep Waters co-founder, Robert Rahm and one of our dear visionary partners and practitioners, Matthew Pierce.

Every wall, every plant, every window, and every accessory has been infused with devotion and prayer.

About the Founders

JOCEYN + ROBERT RAHM

Partners in all things in life, we’ve walked through the initiatory fires of our hero’s journey together for over 20 years and we are in awe of the healing and redemptive potential of love when we are able to hold it as a vehicle for our transformation. We look forward to sharing our journey and the wisdom we’ve gleaned with the community through future offerings.

Robert Rahm is a trained therapist and coach with an extensive background in transpersonal psychology, the enneagram, mindfulness and men’s work. He is also a space and furniture designer, aspiring wood sculptor and devoted dad.

Jocelyn Rahm has a masters degree is transformative arts which allowed her to deeply investigate the intersection points between her greatest passions in life: creativity, community and consciousness. She has taught art extensively with kids, teens and adults and has merged her background in Buddhism, mindfulness and creativity to offer a unique approach to exploring the Dharma and the depths of Self through the harmonization of inner stillness and outer expression.

Our Intentions

At Deep Waters, we do not subscribe to one specific dogma, rigid systems, or a single prescribed path.

There is no one “right way” to be embodied, present, awake, or engaged in transformation. Instead, we honor a spacious approach that is rooted in openness and groundedness, welcoming a diversity of modalities and perspectives, ancient and emergent alike.

Deep Waters is a living experiment.

It will continue to shift and grow as we do, shaped by those who gather here and by the mystery we unearth and explore together.

Many Paths, Many Ways into the Heart of the Beloved

Deep Waters honors the many paths people walk, offering classes, gatherings, and practices that nurture connection, depth, and spirit.

It is a place of welcome, where difference is held with tenderness, and where the work of being human is honored as holy.
